Aside from the Campfire Songs, Outdoor concert Events were of huge popularity in the late 1900's.
It was a typical fad for concert goers to hold up and illuminate these tiny hand-held petroleum fuelled fire sticks, called "lighters, when their favorite band or singer would play their favorite 'ballad" or slow song.
These selections were known for creating a beautiful ambient atmosphere in the stadiums in which they were played. they had a special "live" effect. |
